Informing and empowering horse owners to explore health and healing for ourselves and our horses using therapy, training and developing our mutually respectful interspecies horse-human relationships. Thinking, feeling owners are exploring more, doing the best for their horses using various holistic therapies and embracing new training concepts which clearly contributes much to individuals. A truly 'whole-istic' approach takes ALL the elements of management, exercise and care into consideration, even the things we didn't think of yet and we may yet be challenged to think again. This website encourages you to explore yourself and your horse as individuals and in partnership with each other. Jo Osborne is an accomplished Riding Instructor (BHSIT), long term Bodywork Therapist and Movement Teacher who has explored and studied the many strands and subjects that pull together the holistic approaches of horse ownership. Your own journey with your horse is unique and the many problems that are encountered along the way are often not so easily solved; there is a plethora of ideas and solutions to the many problems and much confusion. The main premise of Jo's work is in finding solutions that are:
This website allows you to explore the concepts, methods and therapies that are being offered here but is also offered as a resource for you to discover more, perhaps consider a bigger picture for yourself or even an alternative approach, become inspired, reflect upon and embellish your own way. We are offering therapies for you and your horse, some delightful workshop programmes for developing your own mind and body and that of your horse. There is no necessity to embrace all the ideas presented on this website. Jo works with total respect for you and your own journey with your horse. You may want to simply enjoy seperate ideas, therapies or investigate a particular issue for your horse without a wish to explore other ideas further than that. Coming to the fore, in the equestrian community, are holistic and alternative horsekeeping and training methods that are based on sound science and consistent enquiry. Healing horses and their lot is more than just one single approach, treatment or therapy but an analytical look at the whole gambit and perhaps even a full re-evaluation of how we do things. Tradition & Anthropomorphism Traditional methods, whilst having stood the test of time, can have both a positive and negative impact upon the individual. By questioning how and why we do things we can embrace that which is healthy and disregard that which is detrimental while we explore the very real health and healing of our horses and our relationship with them; the mind, body and spirit of the horse cannot really be separated. Science often accuses the intuitive person with anthropomorphism. I would like to encourage every individual to reflect upon their own projections on to the horse but at the same time have a very real relationship in the presence of the here and now and to enjoy that very special relationship. Each horse owner is a guardian of the horse and our future. |
