Equine Thermography
Full Body Thermal Imaging

Full Body Thermal Imaging of HorsesFull Thermal Imaging & Diagnostic Report, interpreted by Veterinary Thermographer Donna Harper DVM, provides a tried and tested approach which is completely non-invasive.

Thermal Imaging has proven to be an excellent working tool that can provide you with valuable information about your whole horse. Whilst it does not tell you about tissue state or breakdown it will inform you in your consideration of where to look next in your investigations and to better understand your horse as an individual.

Saddle fit can be checked by revealing pressure points on the underside of the saddle and the back of the horse after lungeing or ridden work. Hoof balance and leg alignment may also be revealed making it possible to spot some stresses or breakdowns before calamity.

Owners have welcomed this method of having a 'whole horse view' which can further inform their own decisions about management considerations and veterinary investigations. We will work alongside your vet and provide all images on request.

Jo trained with Donna Harper DVM,in 2007 in order to become a fully competent Thermography Technician. Since then she has continued to work alongside Donna in order to ensure good clinical practise and provide well interpreted findings to concerned owners.

Jointly, Jo and Donna, continue to work together with high standards. Equine Thermography can provide:

  • Whole horse thermal imaging
  • Saddle fit assessment
  • Reveal individual body heat patterns
  • Highlight areas that require further investigation
  • Inform management decisions
  • Tried and tested approach

There is a dedicated Equine Thermography website for full details and further information.

Thermal Imaging Reveals Saddle Pressure

saddle_imageFinding the right saddle fit for your horse can prove to be a frustrating, expensive and time-consuming process.

More poignantly, if you don't get it right then it can become the source of pain and restriction for your horse with long term effects.

Thermal Imaging is a useful tool in helping you to ensure that your saddle is free from pressure points, pinching, rubbing or bridging and will inform you directly.

Like many things, it is not the most expensive saddle that will fit your horse. The saddle on the left here is clearly 'bridging' despite being priced atthe high end of the market.

There are significant discounts available for group bookings.
